MyItura began in Lagos in 2022, after its founders watched distance, cost and stigma keep people away from preventive care. Most Nigerians pay for healthcare out of their own pocket, and most have no insurance, so a test or a consultation is often put off until it cannot be.
The platform puts the routine parts of care in one place: medical tests with samples collected at home, doctor consultations by chat, audio or video, medicines delivered, and records kept together. An assistant called Itura offers guidance in between. Services run through partner laboratories and clinics in Lagos, Abuja and other major cities.
In late 2025 MyItura added MediLoan, which approves small medical loans in minutes and pays the provider directly, so treatment is not delayed by cash. That November, MyItura won the Wharton Africa Business Forum New Venture Competition, which Adaptive sponsored.
